Zenobia award for Gelukskinders and release of new Christmas DVD and audio USB

Amira received the Zenobia award on behalf of the Gelukskinders foundation in Klerksdorp on Saturday 4 November. This award is presented annually to organizations or individuals who actually make a difference in a residential environment.

Now Gelukskinders has already won two awards in its short existence… We are proud of it. At the ceremony, Amira sang the South African national anthem.

“It is actually a child’s job to play. I think above all, in a beautiful country like South Africa, this should be natural for a child to play. This is not a luxury, this is necessary for a child’s development.”
Dutch singer Amira Willighagen (19) said this on Saturday when she received the “Zenobia# love award” at the Klerksdorp book festival, in that North West city.
This award is given annually at this festival to someone for their contribution to the community.
Willighagen, who won the talent competition Holland Got Talent at the age of 9, started the Gelukskinders foundation that builds play parks for children in disadvantaged communities.
“I am very passionate about this, so many thanks for this award. This obviously helps my foundation to get more eyes and even more helping hands, willing to help. I think, in our privileged position, it is our responsibility, even as Christians, to help our fellow human beings who are less privileged. So, many, many thanks,” Amira said.

The new Christmas DVD and the new audio USB is out. This release also includes a bonus DVD. Amira’s concert on the occasion of her 18th birthday: “On My Own”. This is not to be missed for a great Christmas party.
