That is, the first of four consecutive actions.
On 1 November 2024, Gelukskinders will celebrate its 10th anniversary. Due to school exams, then school holidays in South Africa, this celebration can only be celebrated in March 2025.
It will be a big party. Two concerts, a huge netball tournament and a playground at the Buffelsvlei school. None of this comes cheap. Estimated cost is €40,000, hence an action in four stages. Starting with this Christmas action.
This first “Christmas” stage, Gelukskinders hopes that the playground in Buffelsvlei and the second concert at the Miederpark church in Potchefstroom can be realised. The surplus will go towards the netball tournament which, during the “Easter action” stage, will continue. Each action has a €10,000 target. During the actions, there will again be prizes to be won.
If more money comes in than the target set, it will go to the next action. It would be something if the final target was reached after only 3 actions. Gelukskinders can then ensure that in 2026 several schools in Ikageng and the surrounding area have a playground. Who knows, maybe even a public playground again.
