The foundation’s tenth anniversary will be celebrated in style with two concerts and a large netball tournament. The fact that our patron Amira will also turn 21 during this period is a reason for an extra big party. A fully professional concert in the Atterbury theatre in Pretoria, a small professional orchestra and three professional opera singers who will bring the theatre to a frenzy together with Amira. April 9. A super-sized netball tournament on the NWU netball courts in Potchstroom is the final part of the Gelukskinders festivities.
More than 500 children from the suburbs of Potchefstroom will participate. All equipped with outfits paid for by Gelukskinders. With the cooperation and full commitment of the NWU netball team “the Eagles”, the provincial education department, the board of Gelukskinders and their employees, as well as the donors who sponsored Gelukskinders to get this spectacle off the ground. The children themselves will not lack anything that day. During the preparations, all school teams are provided with balls, netball posts have been replaced or repaired and the playing fields there have been (re)painted. Extra training for these children is provided by the ladies of The Eagles. If you are in the area, come and have a look and enjoy!
